Updated 4 months ago

Reaching prospects often takes multiple attempts, and when you miss a callback, you’re missing out on a valuable opportunity for a live conversation. It’s important to easily be able to follow-up with prospects who you know have attempted to call you back so you can capitalize on the potential interest!

The "Missed Callbacks" Smart List in Orum automatically surfaces prospects who attempted calling you back, helping you re-engage effectively.

This guide explains how to use the "Missed Callback" smart list to improve your connection rates.

🚨Currently, this Smart List is only available to Outreach in our new dialer.

What Is the "Missed Callbacks" Smart List?

Screenshot 2025-03-24 at 11.48.16 AM.pngThe "Missed Callbacks" Smart List identifies prospects who attempted to call you back but that were unable to reach you. This list is defaulted to showing you missed callbacks from “Today”, but can be be updated to show you missed callbacks from yesterday, this week, last week, and custom dates up to a month prior.

How to Use the "Missed Callbacks" Smart List

  1. Accessing the Smart List:

    • Open the Orum dialer

    • From the List dropdown menu in the Dialer Options, select "Missed Callbacks”

  2. Making Calls:

    • Depending on whether you have missed callbacks within the date range selected, the list will populate with prospects who have tried to call you back during that selected date range.

      • NOTE: By default, the list is filtered to callbacks received “Today”. If you did not receive any missed callbacks that day, you may consider adjusting your date range.

    • Start dialing directly from the list to re-engage these prospects.

  3. Syncing Activity:

    • All call activity, including dispositions, will automatically log back to your SEP.

Best Practices for the "Missed Callbacks" List

  • Revisit daily: Start your day with following-up with prospects who attempted to call you back yesterday. Or make it a habit to wrap up the end of you day by dialing down your missed callbacks that day.

  • Refine your approach: Adjust your script or timing based on previous call outcomes

  • Use dispositions effectively: Accurate dispositions ensure the list remains up-to-date and actionable

FAQs

1. Why doesn’t the prospect I just called from the Missed Callbacks list stay in the list?

This list only contains prospects whose last activity was a callback that you didn’t answer. So, when you make an outbound dial to the prospect from this list, they will filter out of the “Missed Callbacks” list. If the prospect doesn’t pick up, it’s possible they will funnel into your “Didn’t Pick Up” smart list assuming it is set up properly (see here for “Didn’t Pick Up” Smart List).

2. How often does the list update?

It’s important to refresh the list before you begin to dial to ensure the latest real-time updates are reflected before you begin to dial. Note that if you adjust the date range filter that will automatically refresh the list for you.

3. Can I adjust the date range for the "Missed Callbacks" list?

Yes, you can toggle between daily and weekly views or set a custom timeframe (up to one month).

4. Why don’t I see any prospects populate in my list?

It’s likely that you don’t have any missed callbacks for the date range selected. Either adjust your date range or come back to this list again later — make sure to refresh the list when you revisit it next.
