Updated 6 months ago

This guide is intended to walk you through the Call from number setting, including: what it is, where to find it, as well as its features and protections.

This guide also covers the Fallback number setting.

What is the Call From Number?

The Call From Number is the number your prospect will see on their Caller ID when you dial them.

Where can I find my Call from number and how can I provision a new one?

What is the Fallback number?

  • When Boost Connect is active, you'll notice the header "Fallback number" appears.

  • Boost Connect, when active on an outbound call, will display a unique Call From Number that has a high propensity to lead to a connect based on millions of calls made in the Orum platform and 14 different data sources.

  • As the name suggests, the Fallback number is the number Orum will use if Boost Connect doesn't have enough data to make a confident decision on which Call From Number to use.

Features & Protections:

Let's say I have multiple Call From numbers provisioned. How do I choose which one to use?

Orum will show you the Connect rates associated with each of your Call From numbers. We recommend using ones with meaningful data and high Connect rates! This advice applies whether Boost Connect is active or inactive.

Is this Spoofing?

No. Orum does not engage in any form of number spoofing. The numbers used in Orum are those that your organization owns or has explicit permission to use.

All numbers are traceable back to your organization, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Please See This Article For Further Details.

How are Call from numbers Monitored and Obtained?

We provide each customer with real business lines that are compliant with the new caller ID laws and we do not do any number spoofing. We use automated reputation monitoring software to alert users of any potential SPAM risks.

Numbers provisioned to Orum customers are assigned to the specific account/company and are linked to you as the customer in our database.

We procure phone numbers from a tier 1 telephony distributor and have agreements in place to provide Grade A numbers in compliance with STIR/SHAKEN.

How many Call from numbers can I have at once?

It depends on your Orum package. You are given a set amount of numbers to use for that month. Please initiate a Support chat to quickly receive this information.

When you've reached your limit, you won't be able to provision any new Call from numbers until the next month arrives and you've deleted an old number.

Can I call from my personal number?

Orum does not support calling from your personal number at this time. In addition to it being an unsupported feature, placing high amounts of outbound calls from your personal number is generally advised against due to legal and compliance reasons.

Can I use an international number as a call-from number?

Yes. Refer to the interactive guides above on how to do so.

Please note:

1. These are based upon availability from our 3rd party telephony provider.

2. Please refer to this article for a full list of supported countries. If you see a supported country in this article but not available in the Orum platform, please reach out to our Support Team for assistance.

When should I delete a Call From Number?

Orum recommends that users delete a call-from number when a red flag appears next to it in the pulldown menu.  For further information on this, please reference this article.
