There are a couple of ways to restrict calls in Orum based on your preferences and prospect data. Whether you’re an admin setting broad restrictions or a user manually excluding certain area codes, these methods will help you effectively manage and restrict calls to specific regions.

Note: Due to Hurricane Milton, we are asking for your support in restricting calls into Florida at this time, if possible please use method 1. If not able, please use the following area codes for method 2: 
305, 850, 321, 561, 786, 904, 352, 754, 386, 689, 813, 941, 727, 239, 407, 772, 863

1. Restrict Calls by State Using Dialer Filters

If you are an admin and want to restrict calls to specific states, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add the State Field to Orum (If Available in Your CRM Data)

To exclude certain states from being dialed, you’ll need to ensure that the “State” field is added to Orum’s prospect list. Here’s how:

1. Log into your CRM (such as Salesforce or HubSpot).
2. Ensure that the prospect data contains a field for "State" or "Region." This information must be mapped correctly to your CRM. Reach out to an Admin of your CRM if you don't see this field. 
3. In Orum, make sure that field is added to your default fields by going to Settings > System 

Step 2: Snooze the specific state in the dialer filters

Once the state field is added to Orum, follow these steps to restrict calls to specific states:

1. Open the Dialer page in Orum.
2. Select the Filters option.
3. Under the State field/filter, you’ll see a list of states or a field to input states.
4. Filter to the specific state
5. Save your filter settings
6. Snooze all the prospects, now that you're list has been updated to the specific state 
7. Remove the filter 
8. Save your settings again 

Orum will now automatically exclude calls to the specified state(s) when dialing.

2. Manually Restrict Calls by Area Code (While Using the Dialer)

If you want to restrict calls based on specific area codes while you're on the Dialer, you can use this manual method:

Step 1: Search area codes in the browser

While on the Dialer, you can quickly search for prospects with certain area codes by using your browser’s search function. Here’s how:

1. Open the Dialer in Orum.
2. Press CMD + F (on Mac) or CTRL + F (on Windows) to bring up the browser’s search function.
3. Type in the area code you want to restrict (e.g., "415" for San Francisco).

Step 2: Snooze prospects with specific area codes

Once you find prospects with the specific area code, follow these steps to restrict calls to them:

1. Click on the prospect with the restricted area code.

2. Choose the Snooze option for that prospect.

   Important: Do not select Cancel because this will reset their status and bring them back into your call list or tasks when the page refreshes.

By snoozing these prospects, they will be temporarily removed from your calling queue, ensuring they aren’t dialed during your session.
