Getting Started with Microsoft (CSV)
Updated 2 months ago

Welcome to Orum! We're excited to have you on board. This guide will help you integrate Orum with your Microsoft account, allowing you to log in using your Outlook email address and start dialing right away.

Recommended Browser: Chrome

For the best performance with Orum, we recommend using the Chrome browser. Please make sure you have the latest version installed.

Preparing Your CSV File

Before importing your leads into Orum, you'll need to prepare your CSV file. Follow these guidelines to ensure your file is properly formatted:

Key Info:

  • Max number of columns = unlimited

  • Max number of rows = 2500. Any additional rows will not be imported.

  • Max file size = 20MB

  • Column headers are not case-sensitive.

  • Column headers cannot be empty

  • Column headers must be unique.

Column Headers: Ensure your CSV file includes the following required column headers:

  • First Name & Last Name (or just "Name" if one column has both first/last names in it)

  • Job Title

  • Company Name

  • Email Address

  • Phone Number. Phone fields must have “Phone" in the title and exist as individual columns (i.e. “Mobile Phone”, “Work Phone”). Include extensions in the same cell as the phone number.

  • LinkedIn Profile URLs. If Reps want to use LinkedIn auto-popups, ensure the header contains “LinkedIn” (i.e. “LinkedIn URL”, “LinkedIn Profile”)

  • Custom Fields (if applicable)

Formatting Tips:

  • Make sure phone numbers are in a standard format, including the country code (e.g., +1 for the U.S.).

  • Avoid special characters in any fields to prevent errors during import.

  • Use consistent naming conventions across all fields for clarity.

Log in to Outlook and Orum

Before logging into Orum, ensure you're already logged into your Outlook email account using the same browser.

Important: You must use the same browser for both your Outlook and Orum logins. For example, if you're logged into Outlook using Chrome, you need to use Chrome to log into Orum as well.

  1. After logging into Outlook, open a new tab in your browser and log in to Orum.

  2. Select "Log in with Microsoft" from the available options.

  3. You'll be prompted to verify the Outlook account you want to use. If you're logged into multiple Outlook accounts, choose the correct one. If the correct account isn't displayed, select "Use another account" and follow the login prompts.

After logging in, you should see Orum and Outlook open in two separate tabs within the same browser.

Once your CSV file is prepared, follow these steps to import it into Orum:

  1. Log in to your Orum account.

  2. Go to the Dialer tab

  3. On the lefthand side of the Dialer, select the List dropdown

  4. At the bottom of the dropdown, select Import a new CSV

  5. In the popup that emerges at the center of your screen, complete the required fields and upload your file

  6. Click Import

  7. Select the List dropdown again. Find the list you just imported and begin dialing!

NOTES:

  • Any notes taken or dispositions logged in Orum, will not write back to any CRM database

  • Call lists are visible only to the person who uploaded the CSV. If one person uploads a CSV into Orum, other team members won’t be able to see it.

  • Account Admins should configure automations so reps don’t call prospects after connecting with them.

If you want to make cosmetic changes to the List or modify its original data, you need to make those changes in the CSV file and repeat the import process. Whatever calling activity you complete against the List will be saved in Analytics and Call History.

Once you've completed these steps, you're ready to start dialing!
