Step 1: Setting Up Outreach Voice

Outreach Voice is a feature that allows you to receive inbound calls from prospects within Outreach.

As a part of setting up Outreach Voice you will need to purchase a phone number from Outreach. You can walk through the setup process in this support article, created by Outreach’s CS team.

Once you have an Outreach Voice phone number you should be able to see it in your settings. It will have the text “purchased phone” underneath the number, as shown in the screenshot below.matt1.png

Step 2: Setting Up Call Forwarding

Now that you have an Outreach number you’ll want to set up your call forwarding in Orum.

You can walk through the setup process in this support article, created by our internal CS team.

For this process to work you MUST add your Outreach Voice phone number as your call forwarding number within Orum.

Once that is done you will see the phone number added to your dialing options, as seen in the screenshot below.

From here on out, ALL dials made to the call from numbers that Orum has provided you will ring through Outreach. This means that Outreach will automatically log and track the data just as it would any other dial made through their system.

Step 3: Tracking the Data

Now that the calls are logging to Outreach, you want to make sure that they are pushing from Outreach to SFDC as described in Outreach’s support article here.

Assuming that all call tasks are pushing through to Salesforce as desired, you can create some reporting in Salesforce to easily track returned calls.

The screenshots below give visual details on how to create a standard report that tracks returned calls to reps (based on Orum’s internal data/Salesforce configuration). For more detailed information, please consult your internal sales operations team.

The example report shown lists all returned calls tracked through Orum + Outreach made in the last 30 days, including the test lead “Matt Godwin”.

  • To create the example report you start with a standard “Tasks and Events” report.
  • Make sure to remove any filters that automatically populate by opening them up to include “All”.
  • Then add simple filters for things like “Subject Contains Inbound” or “Subject Contains Call”.

From there you should have a simple report that allows you to see all inbound dials to your reps!
