Double Dialing is a feature in Orum that helps sales reps improve their connect rates during Power Dialing sessions. When enabled, Orum will automatically re-dial a prospect if the first call goes to voicemail. This provides reps with a second chance to connect in real time—without needing to manually redial.
This feature is controlled at the organizational level and is disabled by default. Once enabled by an admin, individual users can toggle Double Dialing on or off in their Power Dialing settings.
Double Dialing is especially effective for teams conducting high-volume outbound calls. Key benefits include:
Increased connect rates, especially during times with high call block rates
Better chances of reaching prospects who just missed the first call
Reduced need for manual redials
Accelerated pipeline generation through improved live answer rates
By enabling Double Dialing, reps can drive more efficient outbound sessions and reduce time spent chasing missed calls.
This feature is best suited for:
Sales teams doing high-volume outbound calling
Organizations comfortable with slightly higher risk of spam labeling in exchange for more connects
Advanced users who are optimizing their connect rates and dialing strategy
Step 1: An org admin must enable the setting by going to Orum Admin and turning on: “Allow double dialing”
Step 2: After the org-level setting is enabled, each rep can go to their Power Dialing settings and toggle: “Double dial prospects”
Once this is turned on, Orum will automatically make a second call attempt if the first one hits voicemail.
If the first call goes to voicemail, Orum will immediately call the same number a second time.
The “Dialing” button will update to say Double Dialing.
If the user has voicemail drop enabled, the voicemail will only be delivered after the second failed attempt.
The org-level Allow double dialing setting is off by default.
The user-level Double dial prospects setting is on by default once the org setting is enabled.
No. Boost Connect is automatically disabled when Double Dialing is turned on. The two features cannot be used at the same time.
No. Both calls use the same Dial From Number. This ensures consistency and helps maximize the chance of a connect.
Yes. Double Dialing may increase the risk that your outbound number is marked as spam by phone carriers or third-party services. This warning is visible in the admin settings when enabling the feature.
Double Dialing gives reps another chance to connect with hard-to-reach prospects in real time. It’s particularly useful for high-volume outbound teams who want to maximize efficiency and improve live answer rates. As with any aggressive dialing strategy, it should be used with awareness of the associated risks.
