Power Dialer

What is power dialing?

Power dialing is an automated way to dial prospects one at a time. The call is live so there is no handoff delay and the information is presented while dialing. In Orum, you also have the option of fully automating it.

When do I use power dialing?

Typically PD is used for lower volume lists, lists where you’ve spoken to the prospect before, completing dial trees or more strategic account follow up like active deals, etc.

It is also used as training wheels for reps that do not feel comfortable yet with parallel dialing and need more time to set up their processes, like writing down pre-call research into CRM fields and other best practices they have not yet adopted.

For experienced users - if a rep has two screens and they can effectively multi-task while using the fully automated options, a high volume output can be achieved without wasting time watching the screen dial.

What are the auto detect features?

Orum can automatically detect voicemails and dial trees during power dialing!

If we identify these machines, we’ll disposition the call, hang up, and move to the next prospect automatically. You’ll still hear each call from the moment it rings, but you can be hands-free until you reach a human!

You can enable this behavior by selecting the new checkboxes in the sidebar.

Auto Detect and skip VMs - If we identify VM machines, we’ll disposition the call, hang up, and move to the next prospect automatically. If you have a VM selected, it will drop one for you automatically.

Auto Detect and skip dial trees - If we identify corporate/automated dial tree machines, we’ll disposition the call, hang up, and move to the next prospect automatically.

How do I enter Extensions?

To enter Extensions or navigate a Dial By Name Directory, you will use the area where you clicked "DIAL IN BROWSER". This turns into our version of a dialpad:

Extension Box: Simply Type Numbers or Letters

You will actually enter in letters or numbers. We convert letters to numbers in this area when doing dial-by-name.

For example, when asked to enter the first three letters of first name for Colin - Press '265' (or ‘COL)’ and Orum will translate those for you.

Outreach Considerations

We will not automatically complete the call task if we skip a dial-tree using Auto-detect

Salesloft Considerations

Will auto detect & skip VM drop a VM?

Yes, if you have a voicemail selected, it will drop a VM
