What is a Dial Tree?
A dial tree is a phone directory system that conically narrows to guide callers to their desired contact. Dial trees are also known as phone menus, auto-attendants, or bridges. Dial Trees are most commonly found on headquarters or primary corporate phone numbers.
How does Orum handle Dial Trees?
When Orum’s automation detects a Dial Tree, Orum will attempt to traverse any automated dial-by-name directory it encounters when parallel calling. If no dial-by-name directory is found on the Dial Tree or if the prospect name is not found on a dial-by-name directory, Orum will end the call and skip to the next listed contact.
What the dial tree feature does:
Orum’s dial tree feature will attempt to traverse any automated dial-by-name directories that you encounter when parallel calling with Orum.In Parallel Dial mode, If a dial tree is detected, Orum will try to traverse it or use any programming that may have been added by the user. If this does not work, Orum will move to the next call. Users will have to use the program dial tree steps in order to save a new path for the next round of calling.
What happens to prospects that can’t be found in a dial-by-name directory?
If a prospect can not be found within the directory then Orum will NOT complete the call task within Outreach or Salesloft. If you are utilizing the Salesforce or Google integrations, then Orum will write the outcome of the call to the activity as “Dial tree- name not found.”
What happens to dial trees with no directory?
If a dial by name directory can not be found within the automated phone system then Orum will NOT complete the call task within Outreach or Salesloft. If you are utilizing the Salesforce or Google integration, then Orum will write the outcome of the call to the activity as “Dial tree- no directory.”
What does it mean to program a dial tree:
If Orum can not find your prospect within the dial tree then a user can attempt to traverse the dial tree themselves and Orum will record the traversal so that you NEVER have to traverse it again.
How to Program Dial trees:
- Parallel Dial entire list.
You will want to parallel dial your entire list then click the RED reset button once you’ve completely dialed through your list. Once you’ve done this, you may see some prospects remaining who greyed out with the label “Dial Tree” next to their name. This is because Orum could either:
A) Not find a dial by name directory within the automated phone system or
B) Could not find the prospect’s name within the system. You will want to program Orum to dial these for you, so you won’t ever have to do it again.
2.Click Filter > Check Program dial by name directories box> Click Filter
3. Dial In to Orum (either by browser or by phone) and follow the Instructions in the left hand side bar. This will guide you through manually programming the dial tree steps.
4. Example dialing screen
5.Once you have navigated all of the dial trees click RESET and uncheck Program Dial Tree
