Automatic Number Rotation

What is Automatic Number Rotation?

Automatic Number Rotation is a built-in feature of Orum’s AI Dialer designed to enforce dialing best practices. It automatically cycles through your outbound numbers to prevent any single number from being overused. This helps maintain your numbers' reputation and ensures consistent connect rates without requiring manual management.

Why use it?

  • Prevent Reputation Decline: Overusing a single number can lead to it being flagged as spam by carriers. Rotation helps avoid this "burnout".

  • Improve Inconsistency: It removes the need for reps to remember to switch numbers, ensuring that best practices are followed across the entire team.

  • Scale Effectively: As teams grow, manual number management becomes difficult to track. Automatic rotation ensures consistency as you scale.

How it Works and Key Considerations

  • Threshold-Based Rotation: Orum rotates through your list of "Call-From" and fallback numbers based on a set usage threshold.

  • Manual Dials: Automatic number rotation will not override user selected dedicated numbers for manual or one-off dials.

  • Automatic Country Code Matching: Number Rotation works alongside Automatic Country Code Matching. If there is only one dedicated number for a country, Orum will prioritize the country code match over rotation.

  • Personal Numbers: Automatic Country Code Matching will not override a Personal Number, if one is specifically selected.

How to Get Started

  1. Navigate to Manage Numbers in Orum.

  2. Enable the Number Rotation toggle setting

  3. Select the threshold where number rotation will select a different dedicated number to use for dialing. The lower and upper bounds were set based on Orum's analysis of historical connect rates to ensure optimal performance.

Note: Automatic Number Rotation defaults this setting to enabled with a threshold of 80.
